      Veteran Legislator will face challenge

      By Lee Roop

" The big news at Tuesday’s biggest-ever Republican Women of Huntsville meeting didn’t come from the main speakers. Instead, it came from party leader Frances Taylor’s announcement that she will challenge veteran GOP state Rep. Howard Sanderford this year. In the local House race, Sanderford, who has been in the Legislature since 1989, now faces a primary challenge from a member of the county and state GOP executive committees. Married with four children, the 51-year-old Taylor works for Intergraph as a program manager on a government contract. “I’m tired of the same old, same old,” Taylor said. "
